Wardrobe Wednesday: The Big Sweater

Last week's Wardrobe Wednesday post got me my first negative blog comment.  I took it down, because it's my blog after all.  I understand that my sense of style isn't every one's  cup of tea.  I actually enjoy wearing clothes that other's find slightly obnoxious. However, I am just a normal girl, I am sensitive and I take things to heart, so I would appreciate you keeping that in mind when commenting.  I am not a professional stylist, far from. I am really  just a Midwestern stay at home mom who loves clothes and bargains.

Okay, now on to this week.

Today's look is inspired from a page from this month's Glamour magazine.  They say a trend for this season is a big, slouchy, over-sized sweater.

Lucky for me, I already had such a sweater in my closet.   It's light weight, and warm, easy and comfortable. I threw it on over some stretchy skinny jeans and boots, and  topped it off with a fun scarf.   This look is so simple to wear, and a great alternative to yoga pants and hoodies, for grocery shopping kind of days.

Now, I have to take a second to talk about what an amazing deal I got on this Old Navy sweater, and scarf from Charming Charlie.  I only paid about $4 for the sweater, I got it at one of those amazing clearance sales Old Navy does at the end of a season where everything is an additional 50% off the lowest marked price! My heart jumps out of my chest with excitement when they run these sales! The scarf was free from Charming Charlie; it was free because I am on their mailing list and they sent me a coupon for $10 off a $10 purchase!  I also got some earrings and a necklace with the coupon!

Budget Breakdown:
Sweater-- Old Navy  $4.00 clearance
Scarf -- Charming Charlie   Free (with coupon)
Jeans-- Marshall's  $16.99
Boots-- Target  $24.99

Grand Total: $45.98  Not too Shabby!

  1. A negative comment? I'm sorry. Momma taught me if I don't have anything nice to say...keep my trap shut. I don't know much about fashion but I do know you're a dish. Always lovely.
