You can see the Kansas City Ballet preform the Nutcracker, or maybe visit Arrowhead Stadium and see the Chiefs in action, or take in some beautiful fine art at The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. From the beautiful mayor's Christmas tree and giant toy display at Crown Center, to the beautiful toy train display in Union Station, to the famous Country Club Plaza's famous lights.. Kansas City comes alive this time of year! So today, won't you come away to Kansas City for the holidays!

Take Me Away {for the Holidays} Paris
What fashion loving lady hasn't dreamed of walking down the streets of Paris? The art, the beauty, the clothes... Paris is definitely on my must-see-someday list! Paris is the city of love, and it surely is even more lovely as it comes alive with twinkling lights and magic during the Christmas season. Will somebody please take me away to Paris for the holidays?

Take Me Away {For the Holidays} Tuesday: Hawaii
Christmastime through out my childhood was always set to music. I spent so much time at my grandparents' house, and during the holidays, whenever we did something especially Christmas-y like decorate the tree, wrap gifts, or bake cookies we would play one of the many holiday records on the record player. My favorite by far was Bing Crosby's Merry Christmas album, and one of my favorite songs was, "Mele Kalikimaka."
"Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say, on a bright Hawaiian Christmas day, it's the island greeting that they send to you, from the land where palm trees sway! Here we know our Christmas will be green and bright, the sun will shine by day and all the stars at night. Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii's way of saying Merry Christmas to you! " I just love that song so much! Also I have always wanted to go to Hawaii, I mean, who hasn't? My grandparents visited Hawaii a handful of times in the 80s and they always went in December, and really I think that would be the best time of year to visit! Would somebody please take me away to Hawaii for the holidays?

Take Me Away {for the Holidays} to Sweden
From this week through New Year's Day, I thought it would be fun to share places that really seem to make the holiday's magical across the world for my take me away posts! Up first is Sweden!! From the magical lights of Stockholm, to the magnificent alpine views of Scandinavian mountains, there is no loss of awe-inspiring moments to be had. Stay in an ice-hotel, or track a herd of reindeer, or simply shop the wares in the local markets. The most must see thing in Sweden during the winter would be for me, the aurora borealis, the Northern Lights, definitely a bucket list item for me.. and Sweden might just have the best views of this wondrous act of nature. Will somebody please take me away to Sweden for the holidays?

Take Me Away Tuesday: Nashville
I am still soaking in the after glow from the Butch Walker with Marc Scibilia concert that I attended Saturday night. In my teen years, going to an indie-music show at a small venue was something I did on a weekly basis. This concert reminded me how much I love that (providing the musician is good.) I love a singer songwriter and perhaps the unofficial capital of the world for the singer-songwriter (not just country music) is Nashville Tennessee-- "Music City, USA." Imagine the amount of good music shows available to watch on any given night in this city--not to mention the shopping and dining!!! So get me some cowboy boots, and a new pair of jeans and please take me away to Nashville, Tennessee

Take Me Away Tuesday: Jolly Ole' England
I've always had a fascination with the United Kingdom. I mean England seems to be the home of most fairy tales, from Cinderella to Peter Pan. I can only imagine how magical a get away would be to land so rich in history and style. From the castles in the country side, to Abby Road, to the London Eye, the whole of England calls to me in my daydreams. Would someone please take me away to the U.K.?

Take Me Away Tuesday: Yosemite
I have mentioned before that I believe a piece of my soul lives in the mountains. I love the city life and typically I'm not very out-doorsy. However, something about the mountains calls to me, and makes me feel complete. I can be an out-doors girl in the mountains. I love the mountain air, the forest flora and fauna, the majestic views. I think I could totally be happy living in a little cabin in the woods nestled somewhere in the Rockies!
I have visited the mountains many times in Colorado and they never disappoint. However, I have never been to Yosemite. I visit southern California often to be with my husband's family, yet we have never traveled to the northern part of the state to see one of the most popular national parks in the USA... hopefully we will change that someday! So somebody please, take me away to Yosemite!!
