Wardrobe Wednesday Flamingo Fun

So, I just remembered that I have a blog!!  Haha, not really but my lack of bloggy activity lately may have led you to believe I  had forgotten about it.   I could give a slew of excuses from my laptop being sick, to spring break, taxes, kid-activities, and work making me too busy, but excuses are lame.  I am going to try to get back on track. I have a lot to talk about anyway.  So let's just jump back in feet first with a new Wardrobe Wednesday post (since it is Wednesday and all..)

When I was young my mom would often stand with one foot flat on the floor and the other foot raised and placed on her calf.  She said that she was "standing like a flamingo,"  and I became intrigued by the pink bird.   I love flamingos!  I love the bird, the yard ornaments, and anything else flamingo-y I can get my hands on.  So when this little number, "The Larissa Dress" by Hell Bunny came into the boutique, Retro Vixen, where I work---I just had to bring it home.

I absolutely love the shape and design of this dress.  The fabric is light enough that it breathes well and heavy enough that it does not require a slip underneath and it won't go flying with a small breeze.  The print of palm trees, tropical flowers and flamingos is what makes this dress a favorite for me!

The back of the dress is cut low for a bit of drama, but not so low that I can't still wear a normal bra... such a bonus!

For a little warmth on an early spring day, I added a cardigan and tied it at the waist.

I finished the look by adding a vintage head scarf and some coral rounded toe wedges.

This dress is my new favorite! I am excited to take it out and about many more times this spring and summer!
